Modern Zoroastrianism originates with Nimrod on the plains of Shinar. While the modern version does resemble the original, there are some differences. I mention this because the whole idea that we can reach heaven on our own was the primary reason for the tower of Babel. Nimrod’s destructive example failed because we do not approach our Creator on our terms, we can only be accepted when we submit to the terms laid out by our Creator. That is the primary reason for the warning in Deuteronomy 12;32, “Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.” When we try to meet our Creator on our terms we are practicing a form of Zoroastrianism, or as I like to call it modern “Nimrod-ism.”
