While re-researching the Pesach last week, Ex 12:42 came to my attention. (I don't know how I haven't "seen" it before.) It reads "It is a night of watching to be observed for the Lord for having brought them out of the land of Egypt; this night is for the Lord, to be observed and celebrated by all the Israelites throughout their generations."

So, we kept our first night watch after our Pesach meal. Each person in my house had a slot to keep watch.

Do you keep watch/vigil as part of your Pesach?

I have realised that Yeshua and his disciples where in Gethsemane during the night watch of Pesach (after their meal) and may be why He got upset with them when they fell asleep as they couldn't keep watch with him for one hour. I also believe that is why so many people where still awake and about during His trial that night.

We generally keep the early watches, but not necessarily all night.

We/I have kept watch up until midnight as that was the time the first born perished. If at 1230 all is well we sleep.

I didn’t realize it until just this Passover. And here I thought I had pretty much had down all the basics of this feast down pat. Boy do I need to keep fresh eyes when reading scripture.

This passover I was looking into when exactly Israel left Egypt and found the answer in Exodus 12:29-3. Remember Exodus 12:22 says "none shall go out until morning." Did they leave the night of passover or the night of unleavened bread? http://contradictionsinthebibl....e.com/morning-or-eve

I've heard of it and thought about how to do it. I think it corresponds with the disciples watching although, that would not have been exactly fulfilled.

I don't really understand what is meant by 'keeping watch'. Is this such as in military, watching for the enemy? If so, what would one be keeping watch for in modern times? What would one be doing while 'keeping watch'? I'm a bit perplexed as to how it pertains to current times. Please explain.
