I mean... he's got a point. I know plenty of stories of my own childhood as well as friends and family stories of rules being applied in the house while being a child living there. Why? Aren't we supposed to be showing the example of our Messiah to our kids? If he came to save us from all that "bondage" of rules the Father gave, why do we put our own children under similar "bondage"?

Do we not do it for their own good? Do we not put rules in place so that they behave like decent human beings? Do we not put rules in place so that they learn to take care of things properly? Do we not put rules in place so that they know how to interact with society later on in life? Are not all these things showing them how to love others (i.e. teaching them what love is)? You know, like Yeshua/Jesus taught, that all the Law hangs on loving God and loving others. In other words, doing the Law is loving God and loving others. Because that is how God taught us, His children, how to love.

Just a thought.
