Knowing the history of the world we live on helps us learn form our victories and from our failures. The Bible is frustratingly specific about history. 2 Kings 18; 1—2, “Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. 2 Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah.” As we see the time and people involved are extremely specific, we may use a different calendar today but when this was written people would know exactly when it was and who was involved. Although many people have questioned the validity of the Bible archeological evidence proves each time it is excavated that we can trust the history in the Bible.
