I don't have friends because, these days, most people are flakey and self-serving and I've quit tolerating fair-weathered relationships so I'm going to vent here...
I'm so worn down. We just came home from a trip to Kentucky (17 hours from our home in New Jersey), to visit my husband's best friend, yesterday at 5am. We came home to a MESS! I expected the cat mess. However, my MIL lives with us because she's dependent (due to her own choices, not a situation out of her control) and my husband doesn't want her living on her own. Because I wasn't here to check on her daily, she neglected to clean up behind herself, creating more work for me when I returned. In addition to an exhausting week away from home without running water, inconsistent toilet access (we stayed in his camper without water hookup and made due with potty seat and jugs of water), less than pleasant weather and not getting a full night's sleep the entire week, we also had a rough trip home. We'd attempted to book a hotel and that didn't work out so we drove through.
Upon arriving home, we got another bill from my 5-year-old's 13-hour hospital tour about a month ago. We're now up to about $3,500 and still waiting for bill's from the first hospital and two ambulance rides. She's fine now, she'd swallowed a nickel that her 6-year-old brother put in her mouth, it lodged into her wind pipe and then she coughed and it lodged into her esophagus. Today, we overslept (which never happens, I'm up between 6 and 6:30 daily) and were late to our chiropractor appointments, where we got hit with over $600 in necessary payments that I'd lost track of timing on. We got home after grocery shopping to a notification that our auto insurance was scheduled for cancellation because my auto-pay got messed up last month and they didn't notify me until it was due to be cancelled. As I explained to the delightful lady at the insurance company, I don't even need fewer punches, I just need them to slow down a bit. Let me catch up on laundry and dishes before everything piles on, right? Haha!

On the up side, we finally replaced our leaf blower today, after years of not having one, and were able to get the back yard cleaned up (it was BAD) before our major thunderstorm so it was delightful to watch Yah cleanse the yard. I also managed to get my desk area of my bedroom entirely rearranged and am now able to use my desk, which was much-needed for a little me-space. I realized at 8:04PM that today is Friday. Lol. I mentioned to my husband that the house is a mess because I'd forgotten about Sabbath Prep with all of the chaos of coming home. He immediately called the kids in and assigned them quick tasks (clean up the bathroom, tidy your space) so we can relax tomorrow. He even made us protein burgers and fries for a late dinner. My husband is pretty great!
