Different people use different calendars. But for me, I will continue to use the Hillel II calendar. One of the reasons is because the holy days for the year are fixed which makes it easier to plan ahead. I've seen some organizations use a sighted-moon calendar and when a new moon comes later than projected, they have to adjust the rest of the calendar which changes the dates of the holy days. This makes it more difficult to plan ahead.

Yah is amazing this morning I've had to chat with friends one was about Romans 13 the other about the calendar topic and I mention about the moon part in scripture as I'm still learning find it all confusing. Then yah confirms them conversation in this thanks for sharing ???

I *feel* (please note that this is not something I consider to be scripturally proven) like people put too much weight in proving others wrong by arguing the correct calendar, the correct spelling/pronunciation of the names of The Creator and The Son, the correct way to set a table for Erev Shabbat or Seder, the correct way to worship, the correct [insert so many subjects here]. We should spend less time focused on correcting others and more time focusing our attentions on how WE are honoring The Most High. Recently, I had someone call into question which calendar I use and passive aggressively begin to argue it (it seemed, it got cut short, thankfully) because I explained that I'm not especially familiar with the different calendars but, go with how my husband and I interpret scripture which usually comes within a couple days of the ministries we follow. I was left questioning why this person cared so much what our family does that they would bother to argue it. Curiosity is one thing but, curiosity shouldn't provoke argument.

I'm not trying to start an argument. Just trying to start a conversation. The calendar is a complex issue so I know that it will never be resolved. Everyone uses the calendar that they think is right.

I follow the home worship videos of Triumph In Truth Ministries most of the time preached by G. Steven Simons. Where we differ is that use the Hillel II calendar while they use a Sighted Moon calendar. They recently told people that because one of the the new moons came a day later than projected, they had to readjust their calendar for the rest of the Hebrew year. Doing this moves the dates of the Holy Days. I can't use a calendar like that because it would be difficult for me to inform my employer that I am taking the Holy days off, and then go to them again to change the dates if the New Moon comes later than projected.

I would be interested in knowing how people who use a Sighted Moon calendar deal with things like this. Where they inform their employer of days off to keep the Holy Days, and then inform them again if a New Moon comes later than projected and the Holy Day dates change?

With out a sanctified altar, functioning priesthood and a ruling sanhedrin then there is no person or group of persons with the authority to set days and months. Yah set these to establish order to HIs worship. Who are we to come along and say any different than what Yah has determined?
