Just yesterday I had a conversation with a coworker because I have some magnetic vent covers with different phrases and questions written on them on the back of my vehicle. One of them says homosexuality and abortion are abomination to God. The other one says to keep Christmas is witchcraft. The people that I work with come from a Mennonite background and are very firmly convinced that Christmas is now something that we can observe. They were discussing with me about an event in the area and how some Mennonite churches have left it because the event is requiring everyone to be inclusive even of homosexuals. He, my coworker, said that leaving an event like the Mennonite churches did is a whole lot less offensive then the signs on the back of my vehicle. I asked him which ones and he said both. He asked why I said Christmas was wrong and why I said it was witchcraft to observe it. He also asked me why it is I made such a strong statement. I told him that first of all it wasn't up to me to say anything lightly because it is the truth and out of God's word. I informed him that he should look into the origins of the feast that Christians keep today and encouraged him to question where he gets some of his traditions. He told me that he knew where Christmas came from but that it has been cleansed after a little more conversation he moved on to the other sticker on my van after abruptly saying that he didn't understand what I was getting at. he asked me why I would make such a strong statement with those things as well. I told him that once again it wasn't up to me to make soft words but that I could only speak what God's word says. I again told him that it was up to somebody else to be able to provide a burden of proof otherwise. After all of these things I had to ponder. Are we willing to boldly speak the truth? are we willing to say things as they are and not beat around the bush? I wonder if this is why our country has gone the way it has. If anybody has any better ideas or think that I may have done or said something wrong feel free to mention it.
