Psalm 136 uses same word for "forever/olam" as Exodus 27:21 does. If one means forever, doesn't the other? One can't reasonably claim that God's mercy is eternal without allowing that the Temple service, with all its sacrifices and patriarchy, might also be intended to be eternal or at least as durable as the current heaven and earth. There is no Temple of cloth or stone in Jerusalem now, but Ezekiel and other prophets appear to predict its return and active service during the Millennial reign of Messiah.
