I've often thought that if Hitler had been killed sooner, the new ruler would have been smarter and brokered a peace deal. If that happened we may have not learned about the concentration camps of the Holocaust till much later. Just speculation, but I think that God kept Hitler around till the last minute so that He could execute complete judgement on Germany.
