How can we bring in The Messianic Era? Or more along the lines; How can we prepare the way for the Coming Messiah?
As Christians we are supposed to be disciples of Yeshua HaMoshiach. According to 1 John chapter 2 as His disciples we are to walk as He walked. In other words imitating Him and obeying His commands. Remember He was an orthodox Torah Observant Jewish Rabbi. In Judaism it is the ultimate goal of a disciple to be just like his Rabbi. When we say we should be the reflection of Christ this is from that Jewish thought. We cannot be His reflection unless we look as looked. (If you have seen me you have seen the Father)
1: we must practice what He practiced,
( Be perfect as our Father in Heavn is perfect/ Be Holy as I am Holy/ Be Pure as He is Pure):
we see this repeated theme throughout the entire Bible. It is our instruction [TORAH] The entire Bible is our Torah our instruction given by our Perfect Instructor our Rabbi. This instruction is given to us in the entire Bible. We have to change from who were in the flesh to who we aught to be in the Spirit and try to be what we will find it easy to be in the Messianic Era. By learning the Torah and practicing the Torah to change who we are will bring in the Messianic Era. It teaches us how to love both God and Others. Each of the laws given teaches us that.
We cannot be Holy if we look like sound like dress like the rest of the world. We cannot be Holy if we are paying more attention to this world and its media than we are in spending time with God and studying the Torah. We cannot be Holy if we are practicing this world's Holidays but not God's Holy Days and Feasts.
These feasts are supposed to be spent with each other Ina community surrounded by your like minded friends discussing Torah and God and how we are each doing in personal lives and what we need prayers for and how we are doing. This is why we should be coming together weekly not just to discuss the Bible and learn from each other but also to uplift each other. Encourage each other.
2. This brings me to my second point. We must Go and Make disciples of all Nations. We do this by "in all that you do do so for the Glory of God" if we lived our lives like this imagine the impact we would have on the World.
Let's look at the Story of Jacob first: after fleeing from his homeland he went to live with Laban His mother's brother. While he lived for Laban he did his absolute best as a shepherd, Laban increased significantly in wealth. Jacob was the cause of this because whenever Laban lost an animal Jacob took the loss not Laban. Hashem blessed Jacob for this and made his house rich.
Now let's look at the story of Joseph: Joseph was a slave but he worked so hard he was promoted to top each time he transfered to a new owner. HaShem rewarded Him with the power of all Egypt. (He wa still under Pharaoh.)
But see there are many stories like thus and each story we see the people recognizing HaShem as the cause and therefore they not only have their own glory to Hashem but the people who witnessed their exceptional devotion to HaShem now also gave glory to HaShem. This made other people want to be a part of HaShems followers. It wasn't just due to people going out and preaching on the streets but also having an impact on the people around you.
This is why you are to be following the Torah. You are bearing His name on your forehead if you are claiming to be a Christian and so your behavior and how you dress should match up with what we supposed to like which is very clearly outlined In the Bible.
So go and Make Disciples of your friends, co-workers, and families. Shabbat Salom.
