And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the rules that I am teaching you, and do them, that you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that YHWH, the God of your fathers, is giving you.
Deuteronomy 4:1

There are two ways to be used by God: Disobey and be destroyed like Pharaoh and Balaam or obey and be fulfilled like Joshua. You can't truly fulfill your divine calling without obeying God's Law unless your calling is to be destroyed.
