Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) is coming up soon. Just curious how everyone observes this set-apart day and what kind of food will be on the menu ?

What a great question. We don’t have a usual food, but whatever we lay out is a feast! We also play worship music and maybe even do some dancing.

For us it is a Shabbat, but with rejoicing and a feast meal. We prepare food the day before, except when that day is a weekly Shabbat. You are allowed to prepare food on the day, but we don't want to detract from the feeling of a feast. Last minute preparation will be done on the day. When we were living on a farm, we would blow the shofar during the day, every so often. We don't have a shofar any longer as we sold it to when we moved out of SA.

I believe Yeshua will return on that feast and that His children will throw a celebratory feast on that day. I say that as the instruction is to shout and blow [the trumpet]. There are no other instructions that I can recall, so it is a day of rejoicing. This picture reminds me of a great gathering and people joyfully celebrating an event. Our "event" will be seeing Yeshua arrive in a cloud with thunder; from the east to the west.

We will then keep Atonement thereafter to cleanse us as a people and then on Sukkot He will lead us out.
