Im finding out why the churches dont do much charity work anymore: the liability and the laws are written against them. I looked into liability insurance today. I was basically told no and if someone were to underwrite it, it would be extremely expensive. So i cant even do anything to protect against slipping on a step or ice. It makes me not want to do it, but I had to sign a lease for the space so I could apply for the charity of another non profit. Its so ridiculous! I just want to help people out. Im not getting any compensation for this. Most of the funding has come out of my tithe. I had one person contribute to crowdfunding, but that barely covered the address registration. With church attendance and tithing so low, I dont know how these food pantries do it. Ok. Thank you for listening. Rant over.
