You are not to wear a woven mixture , wool and linen together.

So what do ya'll think?

Is this only applicable to wool and linen or other fabrics as well?

I have ultra sensitive skin, so mixing wool with linen would be a huge torture for me personally, but I think this may apply to other materials as well. I heard recently that linen has frequency, so there seems to be some kind of supernatural effect using certain materials. That would explain a few thing’s for me personally.

? This is one subject which I prefer to ignore as ignorance is bliss. I would have to throw out my entire wardrobe if/when I get convicted to not mix any types of materials as there are so many blends...

I personally believe it is just these two materials which must not be mixed for some reason or the list would be expounded upon like the laws around which birds are food... The list of birds mentions each species not to be eaten. So my thinking is that the list around types of materials not to mix would be longer if it was to include more types of material blends.

I agree with it just being linen and wool as well. Even the Rabbis say that and those folks love to make life difficult, LOL!

I have a linen tallit and a couple linen sport coats. They are very different than wool so not blending those fabrics together seems to make sense. Linen is a higher value than wool so this mitzvot could be a guard against ripping people off thinking they were getting a pure linen garment, which doesn't shrink, and then ruining it when it got wet due to the wool. Just my thoughts.

I'm going with just those two fabrics. For a time I thought it was maybe no animal and plant fabrics mixed.
Now my wondering is...If one is wearing a linen shirt and gets cold, do you put on a wool sweater? Most don't have the finances to be buying/making multiple sweaters! Leaning towards that is not a problem because you have not mixed them together.

From an agricultural standpoint, linen and wool don’t fit together for a functional purpose. In fact, if you tried to put a shirt with linen and wool in the washer for example, it will be rendered immediately useless because one material shrinks faster than the other. That verse and the other one talking about the cross-pollination, which renders the seed of a plant useless (bearing no fruit and lowering the population of the plants) talk about not putting things together that are not fit to be together (destroying the purpose).
It doesn’t mean that there cannot be companion plants. In fact, the edible wild plants created and controlled by Yah prove otherwise. As long as they are not likely to be cross-pollinated, and the seed isn’t corrupted, the purpose is strengthened.
The placement of these verses in the chapter make me think that this might have a spiritual purpose for the body of Messiah as well. Do not mix in what is not fit, damaging the seed. Stay healthy and never try to compromise what is right in Yah’s eyes according to His Law.
