When we shift our focus from the victim to the sinner and the sin what we see is much different than the world would have us see. The victim certainly needs to be compensated if possible and the sinner had a need as well — a need for repentance. Psalm 32:5,”Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and You forgave the guilt of my sin.” Each Bible lesson of forgiveness begins with confession and repentance because without true repentance, forgiveness is neither granted to the sinner or accepted by the sinner.
