I actually collected some acorns from our tree last year and dried it over the past year. I just haven't had time to look thoroughly how to prepare it so that it isn't bitter, etc.

I do however look forward to trying it one of these days when I have time.

Acorns are also very good for baby food and chicken food too. The Indians fed their babies acorn mush all the time

Acorn flour is supposed to be really good, but its quite the process to get the tanins out. There are good you tube videos showing how to do small batches.
