Uriah in the Bible was Hittite, one of the nations that God commanded be put under the ban during Joshua’s conquest.
And yet God avenges the death of Uriah by David. Why? Because although by blood he was Hittite, but by allegiance and adoption was Israelite.
When we place faith in Yeshua as Messiah, we too can claim this adoption.

I normally use this as an example when comparing murder and killing in war, but this now gives an additional mental hook on this story.
