Like one who binds the stone in the sling is one who gives honor to a fool.
Proverbs 26:8 ESV

Binding a stone into a sling renders it useless and more likely to harm the slinger. Honor is given for purpose. It is a tool to reward accomplishment, to give more responsibility and power to those who have proven themselves capable of using it wisely.

If honor is given to fools, it can't accomplish it's purpose. It puts more power into the hands of people who will misuse it and it eventually harms the one who gave the honor.
