Think: space, time and place.

Space - How much dog can you keep in your living space? A Chiwawa or a Great Dane?

Time - How much time will you have to play and walk your dog? A small dog can be walked in 5 minutes and a large dog takes an hour to get the same steps in.

Place - Are you in a cold, hot, tropic, etc. location? Not all dogs like all conditions. Huskies don't like heat...

One who is a good guard dog, search and rescue dog, and therapy dog: Red Field Golden Retrievers or German Shepherds are very good for that, and so are Border Collies. But I also appreciate those who we rescue because their love is unwavering
