One thing that always strikes me about this section of the Bible is there is no mention of Satan, the devil, the evil one, etc... It's all about man and man's evilness. Sure, it started off in the Garden with Adam and Eve being deceived into sinning, but can we continue to say that everything bad/evil is caused by Satan?

I know in church that seemed to be the general idea. I've even had conversations with people that when anything going wrong with them happened it was Satan or a demon messing with them.

Please note: I am in no way saying that Satan and/or demons aren't a real threat. I have my own stories along those lines.

But, in most cases, we are the cause of our own problems. In this instance of the Tower of Babel, God doesn't hand punishment to anyone but the humans. God says its the humans that can do anything they put their mind to.

Later on, when Yeshua is talking to people, He tells people to "go and sin no more". We have a choice. The people at the Tower had a choice. We can follow God and His Ways or we can follow our own.

What is your choice?
