I used to be a 7th day Adventist. Adventists do not promote veganism. They promote vegetarianism. Dairy and eggs are allowed in a vegetarian diet because they do not involve killing the animal. Since vegetarians are still getting animal protein from dairy and eggs, they do not suffer the health issues that vegans encounter.

Luke 23:43 in the ESV says: And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” But the comma is not inspired. So it could read like this: "Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise". This gives room for the possibility that the thief may not have received paradise that particular day.
