Food sacrificed to idols
We read that we should not ask whether food has been sacrifice to idol before eating it, etc. but how many of the religions these days still actually sacrifice to idles?
I only know of Hindus who actively still do it.
Then there are the Muslim rituals around Halal foods, but I wonder about that one as you don't have an actual priest doing a sacrifice like the Hindus do. It is now more a social guideline that companies have to follow (and pay for the opportunity to participate) and an Imam will go there once in a very long while to do a prayer over the building.
Hmmm, does that still constitute as idol worship or is that just a way of making money and keeping people in check?
So, which other religions do you know of that actively have priests doing sacrifices? Should it therefore be a huge issues to constantly look out for as in the days when the Bible was penned?

I try to avoid buying halal food. Not because the food was offered to a pagan deity but because I do not want to financially contribute to the halal industry. The money they receive is used to finance terrorism.

Personally, I avoid hallal foods and anything I know for fact is "blessed" or prayed over by a false religion practitioner. I used to like a certain bottled tea until I notice it said it was "blessed", I think by a yogi? I don't remember now, it's been so long.
I just look at labels carefully. If it says anything that could be, I practice the adage of, "if in doubt, don't". I am not afraid of false gods that we know are not gods at all (as I believe Paul also says). They are nothing to me. However, I don't like to financially support such things. Nor do I want to cause someone else to stumble.
