Abigail I'm not going to comment on the thread I'm replying about because I'm not going to give any traffic to strange doctrines.
This started in another post where he had an absolutely incorrect meme about using the word god. I replied to that and then got lambasted with a diatribe four times. He made four new threads to take away from the absurd one.
A big problem in our movement is the notion that every idea has to be entertained and treated equally. This is not the case. When a child calls an apple an orange, we don't start a dialogue and consider changing the name of the apple, we correct the child. Our society is being decimated because nobody just says "no, that's dumb" when dumb ideas get floated. I refer you to how people think they can change genders. Most of us came to this walk because we saw glaring errors that children could figure out and then changed our beliefs. On a very basic level. Many have come full circle and have created their own Catechisms, doctrines of men, being preached as truth.
The basis for even having a canon of scripture is the LXX. The Hebrew bible was translated into Greek ~150 years before Yeshua. The NT Greek matches this bible. The word for a place that Jews congregated on Shabbat is synagogue - a Greek word. It's universally been that word since before Yeshua. Paul did not walk into Athens and start teaching people Hebrew. He walked into Athens and spoke in the language of the people, using the word for god that they would understand. The Gospels went forth in Greek. Even if some were originally penned in Hebrew, they went forth in Greek. The world spoke Greek and it appears YHVH wanted that to happen. It's better for us to use Hebrew and get closer to the original intent, but we have to be real. There's not a hint of evidence that the Apostles held foreign language classes for the world.
I spend a bit of time on Twitter. People who talk like us, using Yeshua and Yahweh, and keeping Torah, are openly mocked. When we use the Names now in public, those who are interested in Christianity associate us with lunacy. Right off the bat. How is the Gospel served like this? /rant
