The KJV has been the standard English translation since the 17th century, but if we read it incorrectly we corrupt what is being written. The use of parentheses was included only after diligent readers realized that words were added or changed from the original text. Romans 3:8, “And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.” in tis verse not every word in parentheses was added but it is used to show at least one word was added for clarity. Chapters and verses are used to make it easier to find a particular passage. Unfortunately, chapters often interrupt a complete thought leading some to believe the next chapter begins a new and unrelated concept.
