I was very surprised how G. Steven Simons clearly explained what John 1 is talking about. That it is not referring to Yeshua at all. but that the word is Elohim's spoken word. Sermon begins at 39.38.

A lot of people behave very emotionally concerning the issue that Yeshua isn't God or part of a Godhead. They think that by doing so, that I and others are trying to make Yeshua less important than he really is. I want to let you know that is not the case at all.

Although Yeshua is a human being, he is still the Son of God, Messiah, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the world, raised from the dead, and is now sitting at the right hand of God.

For those who say that Yeshua couldn't do the things that he did if he wasn't God or part of a Godhead, the answer to that is that Yeshua depended on the Father to do the wonderful things that he did.
