Leviticus 23:26 — 27, “Again the LORD said to Moses, “The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You shall hold a sacred assembly and humble yourselves, and present an offering made by fire to the LORD.” Considered by many to be theist Holy day of the year, Yom Kippur, the day of atonement or the day of covering is the day when Israel as a people (along with those who join them) are covered as a community. The truly repentant have this available every day, but as a community of people joined together it happens on Yom Kippur.
