Genesis 22:5, “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told his servants. “The boy and I will go over there to worship, and then we will return to you.” There is a difference between praise and worship and this verse makes it clear that Abraham was not in the mood to offer praise as he readied himself to offer Isaac. Abraham was most likely confused, sad and maybe even angry that our Creator would ask him to offer his son. And yet Abraham was willing to be obedient to the point of using the word worship as he prepared to walk up that hill while at the same time assuring his servants that both of them would return.
