And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan....
Genesis 12:5

Abram was already very wealthy before he left Haran for Canaan.

Poverty isn't inherently more spiritual or godly than wealth. We're all called to holiness. For some of us, that may mean giving up material possessions, but not for most. God calls us where we are and gives us resources to accomplish his goals. For a few of us, that may mean keeping material possessions and gaining even more, like Abraham.

Abraham was a rich, polygamous, slave-owning vigilante (by some metrics), yet he was still called the "Friend of God".

God isn't PC.
