When someone is talking about doing the Law, they are often accused of promoting a works-based salvation. What these accusations are doing is grouping salvation and sanctification together as if they were the same. They are not.

The NT paints the picture that Yeshua/Jesus was our Passover sacrifice. What did that Passover sacrifice do in ancient times? Saved the Israelites from the coming judgement on the area. What did they have to do afterward? Sanctification. i.e. Follow what YHWH instructed them to do. They had to leave Egypt. They were tested on their faithfulness to YHWH. They were (re)given the commands, the Law of Moses, that taught them how to be a follower of YHWH.

The same can be said of Yeshua. He saved us from the judgement of our past sins. Now we have to do as He said and follow Him for our sanctification. Do what He did. What did He do? He walked out the Law of Moses, taught it, and told His disciples to follow it.

Anytime I hear someone go on about salvation in this context, especially if they have been saved/in the faith for a lengthy time, this verse comes to mind:

Hebrews 6:1-2 - 1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
