I had a beautiful time last Sabbath. I spent my time at a friend's place with other visitors. We met a new Torah follower in Yeshua. We had a good lunch there too.
We talked about all kinds of subjects. One of them is the group I was attending. A couple of women said that they would not attend there anymore because the leader of that group believes that women should keep quiet in the church (except for his wife). I think this is a misunderstanding of the Apostle Paul's teaching. I like to do my best to support local fellowship, but sometimes they make it hard when they come up with dumb rules like this.
I had a good visit with my friends and wish we were able to have these kinds of visits more often.

My first thought on what the women said is, where in the Torah are we told that women must remain quiet in the church? Remember that even Paul can't teach anything new, so he can only comment on his understanding which is where we see his teachings differ from the Old Testament.
Secondly, which other verifiable person taught the same? We need 2 or 3 witnesses and not simply the same person repeating his own ideas multiple times.
This is one of those examples where we need to decide, do we build our foundation on Paul and "translate" the Torah according to his writings or is our foundation the Torah and we interpret Paul according to it.
