the exodus story continues over quite a few chapters to cover that same storyline of the transfiguration.
i noticed another parallel, where at the end of matthew 17 the tax collectors 'demand' the didrachma temple tax, so in exodus 30 everyone who crosses over must pay the beka half shekel, which becomes the temple tax...
