COURAGE, DISCOURAGE AND ENCOURAGE

NEW TESTAMENT VERSES – PART 1

MATTHEW 9:22
Yeshua turned around and said to her, "Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was healed at that moment.

MARK 15:42
an honoured member of the high council, Joseph from Arimathea (who was waiting for the Kingdom of YHVH to come), gathered his courage and went to Pilate to ask for Yeshua' body.

LUKE 21:26
The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up.

JOHN 7:13
But no one had the courage to speak favourably about him in public, for they were afraid of getting in trouble with the Jewish leaders.

ACTS 4:36
For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means "Son of Encouragement"). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus.

ACTS 11:23
When he arrived and saw this proof of YHVH's favour, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to Adonai.

After the usual readings from the books of Moses and from the Prophets, those in charge of the service sent them this message: "Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for us, come and give it!"

where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that they must enter into the Kingdom of YHVH through many tribulations.

Paul and Silas then returned to the home of Lydia, where they met with the believers and encouraged them once more before leaving town.

ACTS 18:27
Apollos had been thinking about going to Achaia, and the brothers and sisters in Ephesus encouraged him in this. They wrote to the believers in Achaia, asking them to welcome him. When he arrived there, he proved to be of great benefit to those who, by YHVH's grace, had believed.

ACTS 19:33
Alexander was thrust forward by some of the Jews, who encouraged him to explain the situation. He motioned for silence and tried to speak in defence.

ACTS 20:1 & 2
When it was all over, Paul sent for the believers and encouraged them. Then he said good-bye and left for Macedonia.

Along the way, he encouraged the believers in all the towns he passed through. Then he travelled down to Greece,

ACTS 23:11
That night Adonai appeared to Paul and said, "Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have told the people about me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome."

ACTS 27:22, 25 & 36
But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down.

So take courage! For I believe YHVH. It will be just as he said.

Then everyone was encouraged,

ACTS 28:15
The brothers and sisters in Rome had heard we were coming, and they came to meet us at the Forum on the Apian Way. Others joined us at The Three Taverns. When Paul saw them, he thanked YHVH and took courage.

ROMANS 1:12 & 32
I'm eager to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. In this way, each of us will be a blessing to the other. They are fully aware of YHVH's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

ROMANS 12:8
If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If YHVH has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

ROMANS 15:4, 5 & 32
Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. They give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for YHVH's promises. May YHVH, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other-each with the attitude of Moshiach Yeshua toward the other. Then, by the will of YHVH, I will be able to come to you with a happy heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
