Romans 15:33 ESV

This verse sounds as if it should be the last verse in the book, and this feeling has led some commentators to insist that chapter 16 was not original to Paul. However, the chiastic structure of Romans reveals that v33 is not intended to be a closing salutation, but an interim blessing while the Roman assembly waits for Paul’s visit in person. The chiasm requires at least two more elements following this one: a statement of gratitude and praise followed by a general salutation.
