I've taken the Cannabis Retail Certification program. It authorizes me to work and sell Cannabis in a licensed retail store in Manitoba, Canada where it is legal. Although Cannabis is controversial, I don't think that it violates Torah. Thoughts?

You are about to purchase the items, do you want to proceed?

so it wasn't an unknown in those days in that region.
which makes it interesting that (so far as i know) there's no mention of cannabis in scriptures.
i was looking for anything around tobacco at the time, didn't see anything about that either.
there is one mention in eze 8:17
- 17“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they are practicing here, that they must also fill the land with violence and continually provoke Me to anger? Look, they are even putting the branch to their nose! -
now this could be a (far too) primitive way of smoking, were it not that expressions around the nostrils tend to imply anger.
the flaring of the nose indicating such.
and immediately preceding this it's about the men worshipping the sun to the east.
so it looks to be in the same category as alcohol.
one can consume without problems, and one can consume with problems.
on drugs in general, it's like drinking a bottle of beer or a bottle of tequila. with or without problems?
so for cannabis or cocaine, with or without problems?
who's your master?
anything which produces physical addiction can master you.
cannabis is not physically addictive. (alcohol is...)
anybody who is subsceptible to physical and/or psychological addiction should stay away from all drugs, alcohol and paracetamol and depression drugs included.
for the record, i think any drug which required processing (and anything requiring illegal actions, including buying) is a nono, i don't know of any that is not physically addictive.
i'd say your problem is going to be what do you do with a client who is obviously suffering from his usage.
does the store have a policy to cater for this situation?
or is it only about the money?
your conscience is on the line here, you need to figure it out.
speaking as an ex south african and a dutchie, the issue has caught my attention before...
where we're left to our own judgements for lack of instruction, let's be more merciful to each other.
were it so important, would there not have been instructions?
it's not what goes in, it's what comes out.
now that was instructed, albeit on a different issue.
(body is temple people, so you don't eat any processed foods or consume pharma drugs do you? and yeah, i know, there will be some of you doing right. good for you, your situation allows it.)
until such time as one dies to oneself, nothing one does is good enough, or everything one does is not good enough.
now this post is a good candidate for moderation...

Keep in mind that I am only certified to work in a cannabis store. I have not yet worked in one.
