Failure is expected… Or it should be anyway.

Falling is part of the journey… The rest is putting one foot in front of the other and being sure to rise up from the ground after we have tripped on our own feet… To rise back up and try again… To tread more carefully the next time and be cautious of our steps… And yes, we will probably fall again and again and again and again… But if we are diligent to do better every time we will fall less, and we will learn to fall better so that we get hurt less when we hit the ground.

In Christianity, we were taught to stand on principle not to walk. Because we stood in that one spot intent with a certainty of our own salvation, we did not learn how to walk.

Now we are learning how to walk, and there will be missteps along The Way.

Don’t beat yourself up when you trip yourself up. Don’t give into guilt or shame… Simply get back up, repent, and strive to do better thereafter every time… Not thinking you’ll never fall again because you probably will and you might even trip up other people when you do. But even then we get back up and help others rise as well.

The Way of YHWH is perfect but those of us who are walking The Path are extremely flawed. Walking in the Way doesn’t make us perfect. It only means we are walking imperfectly in the correct direction.

Know that failure to walk uprightly is part of learning to walk uprightly. And your legs may well be wobbly at first, but the more you use them the stronger they will become.

Be patient… both with yourself and others.
