Our Creator asks Job this question when speaking about the leviathan. Job 41:5, “Can you pet him like a bird or put him on a leash for your young girls?” This seems to imply that birds were kept and other animals may have been leashed as well. So some did keep certain animals for pleasure while others were used for work.
