Treat your poor neighbors and relatives as honored guests in your home, but that doesn't mean you need to give him free room and board indefinitely. To paraphrase Paul, "If he won't work, neither should he eat." Don't despise or ignore him. Shelter him for awhile if you can, and, if possible, give him a job and teach him some marketable skills.
We can never afford to buy our own salvation, so a redeemer was sent on our behalf. #yeshua declared a Jubilee for the souls of those who pledge allegiance to Him.
Like the actions of the high priest on Yom Kippur, his sacrifice that enabled our liberation was done once for the whole people. Unlike Yom Kippur, his sacrifice is effective for all time, from the beginning to the end.
