The news in Israel is heartbreaking. I'm trying to pray and not walk around with this heaviness constantly.

Do tragedies make us, or break us? Maybe the answer depends on how we decide to deal with the tragedies. That’s a question Morgan Phelps addresses in this part of our conversation. She and her family are no strangers to adversity – even some of the worst kinds of loss. Nevertheless, they have found ways to survive and thrive through every trial.

A big part of overcoming adversity concerns our relationship with our Creator. Connecting with Him at His appointed times is a very important part of building that relationship. And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.

What came first, the tree or the nut? We can't say from this verse. The earth sprouting the plants could imply the existence of seeds embedded in the soil, or it could be that the first generation of plants were created directly from dirt just like man.

Look to the horizon; there is a new day dawning. It is a day that gives you the opportunity to choose how you respond. It will either be positive or negative. You can either rise to new heights or plunge to lower depths. You can allow Me to be part of your day or not, says the Lord. Choose wisely. Romans 6:16 Do you not realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

Are Saturday's attacks on Israel prophesied in the Bible? What should we be watching for next? In any case, this is not a time to freak out and turn inward. This is a time to rise up, have courage, and be a mouthpiece for our mighty God, that many would turn to Him before it’s too late.
