Hosea 14;1, “Israel, return to the Lord your God. Your sins have caused your ruin.” Hosea’s warning to return to following the Creator’s instructions is for the people as a community. They had rejected His instructions and the only way for them to be restored was to give up the pagan traditions they had adopted and follow the way of the Creator.
Whew! I am so ready for Shabbat! Sabbath Prep was... You know, I feel like I can't even call it that. My *attempt* at Sabbath Prep was anything but.
A quick, unscheduled business call turned into two and a half hours of unscheduled paperwork. ☎️
My 8-year-old decided that Prep Day was a great time for a big arts and crafts project on my kitchen table. ?
My washer broke, leaving me with a pile of soaked laundry that had to go on the line before it could even go in the dryer, which resulted in breaking one of the lines. I spent the next four and a half hours trying to fix the washer.. still not fixed. So, I was unable to wash the load of bathroom wipes and have now created a new load of stinky towels from trying to fix the washer. ??♀️
The greenhouse and raised beds were calling my name so I needed to do a little maintenance on those, which took up considerably more time than anticipated but, doesn't it always work that way? ⏳
Full yard pickup became a must since hurricane Ian threw a whole lot of rain our way, starting last night and continuing through Wednesday. Grateful for the rain though, my rainwater tanks were empty. ?️
Definitely seeing the little joys in each bit. The washer is broken because of a single quarter in the drain pump that I now can't get to. It should be a relatively inexpensive fix. But, in the meantime, I'm without a washer for a few days and will have to work on practicing off-grid laundry, a skill I've been wanting to work on anyway. ?
My house is a mess, I'm left with more work, not less. But, I got to the most time-sensitive and pressing matters before the rain washed me inside. The house can wait until tomorrow and today is His! ?
Shabbat Shalom, Faith Family!
Thought for Today: Shabbat 01 October:
May you have the presence of mind to cherish every second with the ones you love. May you make time for fun, for rest, and for reflection. May you plan time in your schedule not to have plans and see what happens. May you come to know – on a whole new level – that much more rest on YHVH’s Shoulders than on yours. May you learn to enjoy the journey because His Yoke is easy, and His Burden is light. Remember, He is crazy in Love with you!
