He himself went on before them, bowing himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

When Jacob was returning home from Haran, he saw Esau coming with 400 armed men. What a frightening sight that must have been for him! Jacob's flamboyant display of humility before Esau was genuine, but also would have appealed to the ego of man like his brother. It might seem a little like cowardice, but sometimes humility is the better part of valor.
It amazes me that no matter how much Scripture you give to someone to show that we should still follow the Father's commands; that following Yeshua is following in His footsteps and following the Father's commands; that in Revelation the ones that are called saints and the enemy is pursuing are the ones following the Father's commands; that every prophet's message was to come back to doing the Father's commands. The response usually is "you need to read Galatians."
Psalms 119:1 - Blessed are those whose way is blameless, those who walk in the law of Yahweh.
