Being a follower of Yeshua includes the task of developing sound theology in accordance with the Scriptures. Theology, by definition, is "the study of God" and involves seeking to know God as He has revealed Himself. Even if someone says they don’t care about theology but only about "loving people" (whatever that means to them) because "that’s all God really cares about," they are still engaging in theology. They are attempting to explain what God is like according to how they think He has revealed Himself. The only question is whether or not their theology is any good. The idea that God wants us to have only a shallow understanding of His revelation is not good theology. It also doesn't help us love people.

Answer us when we call to You O Adonai, Who declares us innocent. Free us from our troubles. Have mercy on us and hear our prayers. How long will people ruin our reputation? How long will people make groundless accusations? How long will people continue their lies? Let everyone be sure of this: Adonai set apart the godly for Himself. Adonai we know You will answer when we call to You. Let us not sin by anger controlling us. Father, let us offer sacrifices in the right spirit and trust in You. Many people say, “Who will show us better times?” We ask then that Your face smile on us, Adonai. You have given us greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. In peace we will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Adonai will keep us safe, amein.
