The Israelites were not instructed to keep the Sabbath until the 23rd of the 2nd Month.
So if the Red Sea crossing took place on the 7th Day of Unleavened Bread which would have been the 21st Day of the 1st Month, then the Israelites had 4.5 weeks to decompress from their slavery and slave mindset until they were instructed to keep their 1st Sabbath.
YHWH was gracious with them giving them time to mentally decompress before giving them instructions.
