We read in 2 Kings 22 that Josiah was 8 years old when he became king but something happened 18 years later that changed him and the southern kingdom. 2 kings 22;11—13, “When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes and commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Achbora son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the servant of the king: “Go and inquire of the LORD for me, for the people, and for all Judah concerning the words in this book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the LORD that burns against us because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book by doing all that is written about us.” Josiah had not heard the truth until he was 26 years old but when he heard it he was able to recognize it. Because Josiah accepted the truth he was promised that he would not see the destruction that was coming and he would always have peace.
