I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on when the Lord's supper should be observed. Should it be part of the passover, or can it stand alone? Also what do you think people were being struck down with illness and death for? Was it because the passover wasn't being observed reverently, or because of a general lack of reverence for the Lord's supper part only?

Shalom, Leviticus 23 :1-44 gives us the Spiritual structure of Yah's appointed times. Passover starts on the 14th day of the 1st month and the second day of Passover the 15th day is the beginning of the festival of matzot (unleavened bread) and the same time we start counting the Omer (first fruits). Cross over to Matthew 26:17 it says :On the first day of unleavened bread (15th), His students asked Him where do you want us to prepare the Seder? Verse 20 says when evening came, Yeshua reclined with the 12 students.

Yochanan (John) 13:1 says it was just before the festival of Passover, and Yeshua knew that the time had come for Him to pass on from this world to the Father. That whole chapter is describing events until dipping of matzah which he gave to Yehudah and everything follows in that order since the statement of verse 1 :it was just before Passover. I hope you can see that it was not the communal Seder of Israel from Matthew and Yochanan. Feel free to criticise, to reject, to agree /disagree and Shalom.
