Many people are easily distracted. Even the most committed believers get sidetracked by the least important things. Who wrote a certain book in the Bible? What was the exact year that something happened? How should we pronounce this word? While these questions are of interest, we too often overlook the more important lessons when we get distracted. This problem is intensified when we attempt to fit tradition and doctrine into the Bible. Our focus should be on what is written and not on what we want it to say.
