I have always wondered why the Sukka is what is today, when scripture always talks about the hebrews dwelling in tents and being nomadic. The Sukka of modern day does not seem very practical for this in comparison to a tent.

Its been hard finding much info on the origins of the modern day sukka though. Its seems to be something of the Talmudic era. Does anyone have any historical information on the dwellings of the Hebrews? I found this little piece which was a good read. https://www.ancient-hebrew.org..../manners/tent-dwelli

In the Bible, living in tents is of ancient origin. It goes back before the days of Abraham.
