I am learning russian enough to get confused with some letters that are written the same but said very differently.
Here is an example.
H - English/Н Russian
-pronounced like English N
N English/И - Russian
-looks so similar that I often look twice, pronounced like long E in English
R English/Я - Russian
-again, looks so similar I look twice. I don't get so confused with this one as much anymore.
Here are some interesting notes.
In Hebrew, the word for beard and elder is zakön. In russian there is a word that is pronounced the same but means law.
