God didn't send Israel directly into Canaan. He knew they weren't ready. God knows what you are capable of handling. Trust in Him and He won't steer you wrong. The only unacceptable paths in life are standing still and moving backwards. Trust God's instructions. Keep moving forward. Once your task is before you, to hesitate is to doubt God. He knows you better than you do, so when he says "move", be confident that you are able to move. Exodus 13:17-18
