By command of YHVH they gave [Joshua] the city that he asked, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. And he rebuilt the city and settled in it.

An agrarian lifestyle isn't inherently more godly than a city life, although it is arguably healthier. There was no question that Joshua was a great man of God, but he preferred to live in a city than in the country. The Levites were even commanded to live in cities.
