Hey Guys!

I need some help, what's the evidence for the Messiah being called "Yahshua" over "Yeshua". I'm genuinely open to imput at this point.

Both Names have fantastic prophetic meaning. "Yeshua" meaning "salvation" and "Yahshua" meaning "Yah saves". So I could easily see it being either way. Plus they are both spelled identically in Hebrew.

I do know that Yeshua is used many times over throughout the OT. I dont know how often Yahshua or Yahushua were used.

Nehemia Gordon gave an entire speech on why Yeshua is the proper Name to use. I think its on you tube, or maybe on Nehemias Wall (.com?). Im sure if you search for it you can find it.

'Shua' means salvation. 'Yah' is Yahuah. 'Yahshua' means 'Yah Salvation'.

Yeshua or Yehoshua is Joshua and was also a priest and two people were named Yehoshua in the First Writings.

In the Masoretic texts the prophets refer to the savior as yahushuah. יהוה yahuah is in the name yahushuah. The new covenant is written in syriac Aramaic yeshu instead of Hebrew. The Masoretic texts are the only place we see the savior's name written in Hebrew.

Dave there is historical evidence for both. So there is no real need to fight or divide over it. Both for instance were found in the Dead Sea
Scrolls.
